The season came to an end for Invicta Dynamos on Sunday after a play-off semi-final elimination.
The Mos pushed league champions Chelmsford Chieftains all the way but lost their games 3-2 and 7-6.
On Saturday the Mos faced the home leg of the NIHL South Division 1 play-offs and the tone of the tie was set in the warm-up, as both sets of players came together for an early fight.
When the action started, Chelmsford struck an opening goal with just 36 seconds on the clock. They added a second before the end of the period.
Justin Noble halved the deficit in the second but Chelmsford struck again to make it 3-1 before Andy Smith pulled one back to keep the Mos well in the tie for the second leg.
Two early goals in the second game put Chelmsford into a commanding lead before Noble and Peter Vaisanen, pictured, scored to make it 2-2 on the night.
An exciting second period saw the teams trade goals, with the session ending 6-5 in Chelmsford’s favour.
Arran Strawson, Callum Fowler and Vaisanen scored for the Mos.
Chelmsford eventually ran out 7-6 winners, 10-8 on aggregate, with Jack Tarczycki claiming Mos’ last effort of the season.
