Invicta Dynamos' hopes of reaching this season's English National Ice Hockey League Southern play-off final disappeared on Saturday night when they suffered a 5-2 defeat at Bracknell Hornets.
The Dynamos, forced to forfeit their home tie against Bracknell, knew that nothing short of a win would keep alive their chances of advancing to the final but the Hornets again proved their "bogey" side as they slipped to their third defeat of the season in Berkshire. Invicta's scorers were Elliot Andrews and Peter Vaisanen (pictured).
However, Kevin Parrish's side finished their league-winning season on a high note by thumping Oxford City Stars 14-3 at the Gillingham Ice Bowl on Sunday evening.
Elliot Andrews netted twice in his final appearance for the Dynamos. The experienced forward, who had announced his retirement before the weekend, played 369 games for Invicta and notched up over 600 points.
Dynamos' other goals on Sunday came from Peter Vaisanen (4), Anthony Leone (2), Karl Lennon (2), AJ Smith (2) , Andy Smith and Jack Tarczycki.
