A pub landlord has posted a video of what sounds like birds squawking, in the hopes it will help in the search for two macaws stolen from his zoo.

Andy Cowell, landlord of the Fenn Bell at St Mary Hoo, revealed on the pub's Facebook page that the grounds were broken into just after 11pm on Sunday.

The post has been shared more than 15,000 times across the country - and the landlord is now offering a £3,000 reward.

The intruders broke into the parrot aviary and hunted the birds for 30 minutes before stuffing two macaws into a bag and fleeing the scene.

One macaw was blue and gold and the other was a green wing, which despite its name is mainly red in colour.

Mr Cowell posted CCTV footage of the three yobs who stole the birds online yesterday, after he gave them until 6pm to come forward and return the macaws.

He has now posted a video, filmed opposite Swinton Avenue in Chattenden at around 2.20am on Monday morning, about two and a half hours after the birds were taken.

He said: "We have been sent the following sounds recorded in Chattenden which is a few miles down the road from us around two and a half hours after our macaws were taken.

"Although it is hard to tell we believe this could be macaw noises especially the sounds towards the end.

"We keep foxes as well so are used to their noises and are not convinced its fox calls.

"If anyone lives in this area or knows someone that does can you ask if anyone has CCTV and could check it between 11pm on Sunday and 3am on Monday."

A police spokesman said inquiries were ongoing.
