It would be annoying at the best of times to lose an earring but having to scramble around a cannabis farm to find it is another matter.

That's what happened to one policewoman today as she was called out after drugs were found at a house in Chatham.

The officer, from the Medway Community Police Team unit, was photographed by japing colleagues after discovering the plants this morning.

Police were initially called at 8.50am following reports of a break-in at a house in Kestrel Road in Lordswood.

But when they arrived they unearthed the cannabis cultivation inside the property.

It was while searching the scene, the officer realised she was missing the piece of jewellery.

Kent Police Medway tweeted and it seems she wasn't getting much sympathy from her fellow officers.

It read: "One of our fine Community Policing Team chooses the worst place in Chatham to lose an earring.

"Mind you she's having a better day than the one in custody for a Cannabis farm found today."

A spokesman confirmed a 41-year-old man was arrested but has been released under investigation.

The force said inquiries are ongoing.
