Jamie Johnson is now within reach of winning The Voice 2014, as he sailed through to the finals.
The 19-year-old from Gillingham sang for an audience of millions in the show’s semi final last night (Saturday), and scored himself a place in the top four.
His emotional rendition of Bonnie Raitt's I Can’t Make You Love Me, which is one of his all-time favourite songs, received the most public votes for Kylie Minogue's team.
The former Brompton Academy and MidKent College student took to Twitter straight away once being told he was one step closer to achieving his dream of winning the BBC One talent show.
He said: "Just got in from the best night of my life! I AM SOOOO HAPPY! THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE FOR VOTING!"
Kylie also joined her boys Lee Glasson, of Coventry, and Jamie to perform her current single Into The Blue on the night.
Mr Glasson, 31, said after hearing the results and finding out he was not through to the finals: "It's been quite a test. I've learnt so much about myself. It's just been amazing and Jamie to win."
After Jamie's performance for Team Kylie, his mentor said: “Now I’m finding it hard to speak.
"I try my best to keep strong for my guys, but now that you’ve performed I may fall to pieces.
"You deliver every time and it was so beautiful to hear you sing something so emotional”.
Will.i.am added: “I think you made everyone love the way you were singing. Great song selection, great elegant set up, you executed it flawlessly”.
Sir Tom Jones chipped in with: “He made it his own, and it was really strong. To be 19 years old and sing with that emotion, it’s as though you’ve lived that song”.
And Ricky Wilson continued: “Honestly, it was such an open and honest lyric. It made us really see you, with nothing to hide behind, and I wanted to see that from you”.
Jamie will be up against Sally Baker, Christina Marie Wickens and Jermaine Jackman in the final which airs next Sunday at 7pm on BBC One.
The BBC has announced it has commissioned another two series of TV talent show but bosses refused to confirm whether any of the current coaches, including Kylie Minogue, were returning.
There have been rumours Kylie may quit the show to focus on her own music career.
