Gillingham High Street closed after fire in Papa G's kebab shop

Part of a high street was closed this morning after a fire broke out in a kebab shop.
Firefighters were called to Gillingham High Street at 8.30am to reports of smoke issuing from the takeaway near McDonalds.
Four fire engines initially responded to the call and two remained at the scene until 10.25am.
A local resident named the takeaway as Papa G's Fast Food.
A spokeswoman from Kent Fire and Rescue said the fire had started in the ground floor of a commercial premises, which had flats on the first floor. No one is believed to have been injured.
The end of the high street was closed off whilst the fire brigade were on the scene and police were in attendance to manage traffic.
