Rochester man due at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court charged with sex offences

A man has appeared in court charged with multiple sex offences.
Lee Chilman is accused of trying to get a child between the age of 13 and 15 to look at an image of sexual activity and grooming a girl under 16.
The 46-year-old, of Maidstone Road, Rochester, is also charged with arranging the commission of an offence of sexual activity with a child.
He was arrested following an investigation by the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU) and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary.
As well as sex offences, Chilman has been charged with having a bladed article and possession of amphetamine, a class B drug.
He appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court on Friday, February 23.
Chilman’s case was adjourned until a hearing at Portsmouth Crown Court on March 25.
