A Kent MP had double reason to celebrate after she was proposed to on her birthday – and she said 'yes'.
Tracey Crouch, who represents Chatham and Aylesford, shared her delight with her Instagram followers this evening.
She posted a photo of herself with long-term partner, radio presenter Steve Ladner, and a strategically placed ring finger along with the caption: "I said yes....."
Earlier, the Conservative MP had tweeted a picture of a 46th birthday present "from her boys" that acknowledged her battle with breast cancer.
Ms Crouch, who lives in Aylesford with Steve and their son Freddie, was diagnosed with the disease in June last year.
The cancerous lump that she found was removed exactly a year ago today, on her birthday.
She has since shared her experience of going through weeks of treatment with regular updates for her followers on social media, encouraging women to get checked.
And last month the MP revealed she had been given the all-clear.
