Key workers are being invited to help get one of Kent’s most loved karting circuits back on track.
The owners of Buckmore Park near Chatham want to recognise the heroic efforts of those who have kept the county going over the past year.
They are giving you the chance to nominate an essential worker who will get to compete in the first race when the track reopens later this month.
For example, it could be a healthcare worker, refuse collector, teacher, delivery driver or amazing volunteer.
Not only will the winning nominees get to race around the track which kick-started the careers of the likes of Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton, the race will also be led off by an historic F1 car.
Rich Martell from Buckmore Park said: "Essential workers have been there for us throughout lockdown, and now we are able to re-open the park this is our way of saying thank you for everything they do."
The future of Buckmore Park in Chatham had been in doubt after having to be closed throughout the pandemic.
But bosses have managed to secure the finances they need to reopen for racing on Wednesday, June 30.
The action on the track will get under way at 12.30pm with those taking part needing to arrive by 11.50am for safety briefings.
Nominations have now closed and those selected to take part in the first race are:
Adam Haines
Andrew Moss
Dr Ash Peshen
Ellie Turrell
George Jones
Harry Sisley
Jacqui Sarakbi
Jamie Evans
John Paul Lisle
Matt Goater
Rohit Silhi
Sandra Merron
Steve Tunnicliffe
Stewart Dimmick
Four more nominees are still to be confirmed.
