A group of schoolchildren are writing to care home residents in an effort to raise their spirits.
It comes as amid rising concerns over coronavirus and the possibility of elderly people being kept in self-isolation for extended periods.
Pupils from Warren Wood Primary Academy, in Arethusa Road, Rochester, have been sending letter to care homes in their area.
Head teacher Louise Hardie said: “Our pupils love to visit care and residential homes, whether to give performances, read with older people or just play with them.
"This bond is so strong and because we are in the middle of the most extraordinary crisis, we are sending postcards with lovely messages, drawings, letters and stories.
"We are sure our friends will appreciate receiving this from the children.”
