A home in Upnor was struck by lightning during a storm.
Firefighters were called out to Schooner Walk at about 9pm on Saturday. The bolt had caused the power supply to fail and led to slight damage to the property.
A crew from Strood was sent to the home in Upnor, after the homeowner smelt burning in the house.
A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service, said: “There was only minor damage to the home.
“Some of the timbers in the roof had been struck and smelt of burning.
“The power went off in the home but we were only there for about half an hour, just as a matter of precaution really.
“There were a lot of people in the house, we think there was a children’s party going on.”
Other parts of Medway also suffered from the torrential downpour during the storm.
In Seaton Road, Gillingham, people had to move their cars to other streets as several inches of water flooded the road.
People living in Carnation Road, Strood, also saw about half a foot of water pool in their street. Many residents tried to unblock drains themselves to bring the water levels down.
