The roof of a car had to be cut off after being involved in a crash on a busy road.
The incident happened on the A228 Four Elms Hill in Rochester on the London-bound carriageway.
Three cars were involved and the accident happened near the Four Elms roundabout.
There was congestion along Dock Road and traffic struggled out of Medway City Estate and the Frindsbury Hill area.
Fire crews attended at around 3.40pm with two engines and closed the carriageway temporarily.
A spokesman said: “Firefighters used hydraulic rescue equipment to remove the roof of a car to create space for paramedics to assess and treat one person who was then moved to an ambulance.”
Crews stood down at 4.53pm.
Police was also called to the crash at 3.15pm.
A spokesman said: “Officers, along with fire and ambulance crews attended and a man was taken to a local hospital.
“The road was closed but has now been reopened.”
