Lordswood chairman Tony Gue is expecting to play Kent 2 rugby next season after they were deducted 10 points at a disciplinary hearing on Tuesday.

The Kent 1 match between Lordswood and Sheppey was abandoned on October 23 and both clubs appeared in front of the Kent County Rugby Football Union after being charged with bringing the game into disrepute.

Both clubs were found guilty but Sheppey did not receive a points deduction while Lordswood were also deducted a further 10 points which are suspended.

Players from both sides also received suspensions. Lordswood’s Jame Dorman received a four-week ban and Steve Stopani, after not being able to attend, has been suspened until he can be present at a further hearing in two weeks.

Sheppey’s Chris Bain and Martin Robinson have been banned for four and three weeks respectively.

"We had a fair hearing," admitted Mr Gue (pictured). "Sheppey didn’t deserve to get any points deducted.

"They were found guilty of the same offence but it would have been unfair to (effectively) derail their season."
