A lorry has careered off a road and into a ditch leaving a busy route partially blocked.
The accident happened on the Lord Lees Roundabout, at the top of Blue Bell Hill, near Walderslade, at 8.45am today.
It appears the lorry crashed through a barrier alongside the A229.
Traffic reports say the route is partially blocked, with traffic slow as a result. The main carriageway has been closed Chatham-bound while emergency services attend.
Police spokesman, Martin Very, said: "Police were called regarding a report that a lorry had left the carriageway on the Lord Lees Roundabout near Blue Bell Hill.
"Officers, Kent Fire and Rescue Service and South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene where the driver was treated for injuries before being taken to a local hospital for further medical attention.
"One lane on the roundabout remains closed to traffic while arrangements are made to recover the lorry and complete repairs to roadside barriers."
The man’s injuries are not described as life threatening.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that three fire engines and the Technical Rescue team were sent and crews used cutters and small tools to release one person from the lorry, who was then passed into the care of South East Coast Ambulance paramedics.
