The M2 has fully reopened more than four hours after a lorry caught fire on the motorway.
A blaze broke out in the vehicle on the M2 between Rochester and Chatham near the Medway Bridge at about 3.10pm.
Highways England all four lanes of the coastbound carriageway were closed for about 30 minutes due to a spillage from 3.30pm.
The inside lane remained closed until 7.30pm while further clearance work took place.
Two fire engines and a bulk water carrier were sent to the scene, a fire service spokesman said.
Crews used foam and hose reel jets of water to tackle the blaze and left the scene shortly before 3.40pm.
Pictures showed the damage and burnt out cab of the truck but fortunately no casualties were reported.
The incident is between junction 2 for Rochester and junction 3 for Walderslade.
Queues tailed back for four miles to Cobham and the Gravesend junctions on the A2 while the fire was put out and the spillage was cleared.
