Motorists were stuck in traffic on the M2 this morning due to a broken down HGV.
A lorry broke down in the middle lane and police and highway officers struggled to get it off the motorway.
The incident happened as the M2 joins the A2 heading towards London.
Highways England officers were unable to move the lorry as its brakes were locked.
Drivers were stuck on the motorway for up one hour with one person on Twitter saying it took them 50 minutes to get from junction 1 of the M2 to the Inn on the Lake hotel.
Two lanes remain closed.
