Man seriously injured after car overturns in crash on M2 in Medway

A man has been seriously injured following a crash which left a car on its roof and led to part of the M2 being closed overnight.
The collision happened at about 10pm last night near Junction 3 for Chatham and Rochester.
A police spokesman said: "The incident took place at 10pm on Tuesday, February 8 and involved a Silver BMW M6 that left the coastbound carriageway at Junction 3.
"The driver, a man in his 20s, sustained serious injuries and was taken to a London hospital where he remains in a serious condition."
A spokesman for the ambulance service said crews were called and transferred the patient into the care of air ambulance doctors.
The patient was airlifted to hospital.
The road was shut for eight hours, and reopened at around 6.15am today.
A diversion was in place with traffic leaving the motorway and rejoining via the the exit and entry slip roads.
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) would like to speak to anyone who saw the crash or who has dashcam footage that might help the investigation.
