A busy stretch of a Kent motorway was closed following a two-car crash.
Congestion is said to have extended one-and-a-half miles along the M2's eastbound carriageway following the incident near Strood at about 3pm.
National Highways officials cleared the scene - which is between Junction 2 for Strood and Junction 3 for Blue Bell Hill - 45 minutes later.
However, they warn there are still 30-minute delays in the area.
A National Highways spokesman said: "Traffic was held temporarily on the M2 eastbound while officers dealt with a spillage and debris following the collision.
"There were 1.5 miles of congestion on the approach.
"Traffic has now been released and all lanes are open.
"There are residual delays of 30 minutes above normal journey times."
Police have been contacted for comment.
