A main route will be closed for around a week due to emergency works.
Part of Woodlands Road, in Gillingham, is shut to allow UK Power Networks’ engineers to carry out essential repairs to an underground cable.
A spokesperson for the energy firm said that the works will help the area maintain reliable power supplies.
They added: “We apologise for any disruption caused by our roadworks and will complete the work as quickly as possible.”
Medway Council said the road closure is in place from today (May 29) and is due to “emergency works”.
It is expected to be sealed off until Tuesday, June 4, and delays are likely.
