A 23-year-old Lithuanian accused of attempted rape in Chatham could be facing further charges.

Edmas Milto, of Canterbury Street, Gillingham, denies attempted rape, assault by penetration and assault causing actual bodily harm involving one alleged victim.

He is alleged to have committed the offences in Haig Avenue in Chatham on July 24.

Prosecutor Martin Yale said investigations were ongoing into other matters.

A trial date has been set for January 28 next year.

Milto, who appeared at Maidstone Crown Court on Thursday by TV link with Elmley Prison and was assisted by an interpreter, was remanded in custody.
