A suspected burglar has been arrested within 30 minutes of a reported break-in.
Officers in Medway were made aware of an incident in Carnation Road, Strood, at around 7pm on Monday.
The victim wasn’t in at the time of the alleged break-in but accompanied patrols to their home and reviewed video footage.
After a quick search of the nearby area, a man who matched the description was found in Darnley Road where police say he “appeared to be looking through the window of another property”.
A force spokesman said: “The man, aged 41 and from Chatham, was detained by police on suspicion of burglary and taken into custody.
“The suspect is also linked to an incident of criminal damage to the window of a property in Chelmar Road, Chatham, which is reported to have occurred on 22 September 2023.
“Inquiries regarding both incidents remain ongoing with the force’s criminal investigation department.”
