A man has been arrested following an alleged gun incident in Brambletree Crescent, Borstal, yesterday afternoon.
Armed officers were called after a report of a "disturbance" involving people who were known to each other - one of whom was said to have had a firearm.
No one suffered any injuries and subsequent information provided to officers suggested the weapon may have been a BB gun.
The man was allegedly spotted running down the road in Brambletree Crescent, Borstal, apparently brandishing the weapon at two other people.
The drama unfolded just yards from the village school in Warwick Crescent at the top of Brambletree just before 1pm.
Pupils at Pilgrim Primary School were allowed to leave the site as normal at the end of classes.
Many people living in the area turned up and watched the drama unfold until the early evening, including parents picking up their children from school.
Police, who contained the incident to one house, said no shots were fired and no one was injured.

A police spokesman said on Tuesday evening: “Kent Police was called at 12.49pm to a report of a disturbance between people believed to be known to each other in Brambletree Crescent, Rochester.
“Armed officers attended the scene and contained a residential property, as it had been reported that someone may have been in possession of a weapon.
“The road has now reopened and the scene has been stood down. Officers are continuing to make inquiries into the circumstances of the incident.”
During the drama, police blocked both entrances to the road and told people to stay away from the area.
Another man who was walking his dog said he was turned away by armed police who also had dogs.
Yesterday, police said a 28-year-old man from Rochester voluntarily went into Medway Police Station, in Gillingham.
He was arrested on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
He has now been bailed pending further inquiries until Sunday, February 19.
Chief Insp Simon Alland, Medway District Commander, said: “I would like to thank residents for their patience while officers dealt with this incident."
“We are treating this as an isolated matter as those involved were connected to each other and there is no suggestion anyone else was at any risk of harm.
“I hope this reassures the local community, and that our response to this incident demonstrates how seriously we take any reports involving firearms.”
