Man bailed after armed police storm Castle Road in Chatham

A man who was arrested in connection to an incident involving armed police and the police helicopter, has been released.
Police were sent to Castle Road in Chatham after a man allegedly attacked a woman at 11.15pm on Saturday.
The victim and suspect are believed to be known to each other.
At around 2am the man allegedly threatened further violence on the woman.
Then police and a helicopter were deployed in the Luton Road area and armed officers were spotted outside a home in Castle Road.
There were also ambulances parked in adjoining Luton Road.
Police spokesman Steve Knight said: "Officers supported by armed patrols and the helicopter attended the location and arrested a 42-year-old man nearby."
The man has since been released on bail, pending further inquiries.
He is due back at the police station on Thursday, August 1.
Police say no weapons were involved and no serious injuries were reported.
