A man has been charged following an alleged nine month crime spree targeting farms.
Police received nine reports that high value agricultural plant and other equipment had been stolen from farms and businesses in north and west Kent between July 10 2022, and March 6 this year.
The burglaries and thefts are alleged to have taken place at sites in Allhallows, Shorne, Sandling, Gravesend, Southfleet and West Malling.
Detectives identified that some of the stolen items were thought to have been advertised for sale on a specialist website and also sold to innocent buyers.
Yesterday (May 22), officers arrested a man suspected to be responsible for the multiple thefts and recovered a quantity of suspected stolen farm equipment.
Jamie Broadmore, of Elaine Avenue, Strood, was later charged with six burglaries, three thefts, two frauds, acquiring criminal property and failing to provide a sample for a drug test.
The 37-year-old was remanded in custody to appear before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court today (May 23).
