Officers assaulted and spat at in Layfield Road, Gillingham

A man has been charged after police officers were assaulted and spat at in Medway.
The constables were attending an incident in Layfield Road, Gillingham, at 1.30am yesterday. One officer his finger broken, suffered facial injuries and was allegedly spat in the face.
The other officer suffered injuries to her hand.
Jason Cole, 35, of Napier Road, Gillingham, was arrested and later charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and assault of an emergency worker.
He was remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
