Man charged after teenager suffers deep cut to stomach in Luton Road, Chatham

A man has been charged and a teenager arrested following an assault in which another teenager was seriously injured.
The teenager suffered an injury to his stomach, believed to be a long deep cut, in Luton Road, Chatham on Tuesday, May 2.
Emergency services were called to the road around 5.45pm and the victim was flown to Kings College Hospital.
Alan Ibrahim Ali, 24, of Luton Road in Chatham, has since been charged with perverting the course of justice.
He appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on May 11 and he has been remanded in custody until June 8, where he will appear at Maidstone Crown Court.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of assault. He has been bailed, pending further enquiries, until June 6.
A 24-year-old man from Chatham was also arrested on suspicion of assault and has been bailed, pending further inquiries, until Monday, May 29.
The teenager is understood to be out of hospital and recovering well.
