Man due before magistrates in Medway after two police officers were attacked in Chatham

A man has been charged with two counts of assaulting police after he attempted to run away from them when they tried to arrest him.
Lee Pritchard, 29, came to the officers' attention in New Road, Chatham, but when they approached him, he tried to run way.
As they tried to arrest him, he is alleged to have assaulted officers from Medway’s Community Policing Team.
The incident happened at about 8.30pm on Wednesday, October 14.
Pritchard, of no fixed address, has been charged with two counts of assaulting an emergency worker.
He is due to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court by video link later today.
