A 31-year-old has been charged after a serious assault left a man in hospital.
Police were called to Borstal Street, Borstal, near Rochester, at 11.55pm on Saturday following a report someone had been attacked.
Officers were joined by ambulance crews and the victim was taken to hospital in London.
Forensics officers were also at the scene yesterday morning inspecting the area.
A suspect was later arrested in connection with the incident and taken into custody.
Danny Gray, of Churchill Avenue, Chatham, has since been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent, criminal damage, assault of an emergency worker and possession of cocaine.
He is due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court today.
The road was closed in both directions near St Matthew's Church while officers carried out inquiries, but reopened at around midday yesterday.
It is understood the man's injuries are not life threatening although he remains in hospital.
