A man has been charged with attempted murder after another man was knifed in a town centre.
Police were called at around 3.45pm yesterday to reports of an assault in Chatham High Street.
The area was cordoned off outside Iceland supermarket while paramedics treated the victim.
He was taken to a local hospital with an injury consistent with a stab wound.
Tony Mezzone, of no fixed address, has since been charged with attempted murder, possession of cannabis, and possession of a knife in a public place.
The 39-year-old remains in custody and is due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on June 1.
