Man appears in court over Chatham stabbing charge

A man has appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court charged with attempted murder after another man was knifed in a town centre.
Tony Mezzone, 39, of no fixed address, has also been charged with possession of cannabis and possession of a knife in a public place.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday, June 29 after Monday's hearing.
Police were called at around 3.45pm on Saturday to reports of an assault in Chatham High Street.
The area was cordoned off outside Iceland supermarket while paramedics treated the victim.
