Man, 51, charged with multiple counts of assault following incident in Gillingham

A man has appeared in court on seven charges, five of them assaults.
John Convey, of no fixed address, appeared before Medway Magistrates' Court yesterday after being charged with racially aggravated assault by beating.
The 51-year-old was also charged with possession of a knife in a public place and criminal damage, along with three other assault charges relating to an offence which took place in Milton Road, Gillingham between last Friday and last Saturday.
Convey was also charged with assault by beating in regards to a separate offence in November.
He was released to appear before Maidstone Crown Court on February 1.
