A teenage boy spotted by police allegedly entering a railway station with a cannabis joint tucked behind his ear has been arrested.
Officers based at Gillingham reportedly saw the youngster walking into the building in the town centre.
The team from British Transport Police, which has been stationed there to combat a rise in anti-social behaviour, said he was "trying to blag a free train ride" from station staff.
Police were alerted to the incident and they stopped the 16-year-old boy before searching him.
He was also reportedly found carrying a lock knife and was arrested at the scene on suspicion of possessing cannabis and has been interviewed by officers.
A file is being prepared for prosecutors, the force said.
A police spokesman said the boy has since been returned to his home address.
