A man who fell from the top of the Pentagon Shopping Centre, in Chatham, is still in a serious condition in a London hospital.
The man, who has not been named, fell from the building at about 10am yesterday morning.
Ambulance crews and other emergency services were called out to The Brook and the injured man, was taken to St Barts Hospital in London, and is said to have suffered serious leg and head injuries.
However, it is understood he is conscious and is able to communicate with medical staff.
Police, firefighters, ambulance crews, forensic officers and detectives were sent to the scene and the area was sealed off for almost three hours.
Three police cars blocked The Brook and there were long queues on Dock Road and the former Chatham Bus Station was cordoned off as well as Medway Council multi-storey car park.
Police cordoned off the alleyway next to Medway Magistrates Court and officers also went into the Jobcentre building to see inquire if the man has been in the building before he fell from building.
Cars were diverted to Whiffen's Avenue, along Rope Walk, Cross Street and back down Slicketts Hill while the cordon was in place.
After carrying out their investigations, police eventually reopened the road at about 12.40pm.
This afternoon, James Walker, spokesman for police said: "The man remains in hospital in a stable condition."
