Man stabbed in attempted robbery outside Chatham chip shop

A chip shop worker was stabbed in the leg by a masked man demanding cash.
Kent Police is investigating the attempted robbery at The Original Codfather in Luton High Street, Chatham.
At around 10.15pm last night (Friday) a 49-year-old man was leaving the premises when he was approached by another man who had his faced covered with a mask and demanded the victim hand over money.
The offender ran off empty-handed in the direction of Beacon Hill and the victim noticed he had suffered a stab wound to his leg.
Members of the public called the emergency services.
The victim's condition is currently described as serious but stable.
A police spokesman said investigations to locate the offender are continuing.
