Police cordon off Chatham High Street near Iceland after man 'stabbed'

A man has been arrested after another man was reportedly knifed in a town centre.
Kent Police was called at around 3.45pm to reports of an assault in Chatham High Street.
The town centre was cordoned off outside Iceland supermarket while paramedics treated the victim.
He was taken to a local hospital with an injury consistent with a stab wound.
Nicola Cochran saw the aftermath of the attack - a man walking off with a wound to his neck, being followed by a police officer.
She said: "The man had put tissue around the wound.
"I was born and bred in Chatham, but now I hate it, and really want to leave, it's scary - I don't feel safe."
A man is his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in police custody.
The cordon has since been lifted.
