Man suffers burns to hands after chip pan fire at home in Smith Street, Strood

A man suffered light burns after a chip pan fire broke out in his kitchen yesterday evening.
Firefighters from Strood were called out Smith Street in the town at about 7pm after the fire ignited.
Firefighters used breathing apparatus to enter the home to put out the flames.
The man suffered smoke inhalation and light burns to his hands.
He was treated at the scene by firefighters and did not need to be taken to hospital.
Crews left the property at about 9.40pm.
