Man trapped in car after crash on Pilgrims Way, Cuxton, near the M2

Firefighters had to cut a man free from a car near the M2 this afternoon after a crash between a car and a van.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service were called to Pilgrims Way and Sundridge Hill in Cuxton, at 1pm. Firefighters used hydraulic rescue equipment to remove the roof of the vehicle to enable them to release the man.
The man, who is believed to have been in his late 50s and from Australia, was taken to hospital.
A police spokeswoman said they were called at 12.45pm to reports of a collision between a car and a van.
One lane was closed whilst emergency services dealt with the accident.
