Chatham golfer Matt Haines has swapped Britain’s snow for some southern hemisphere sunshine.
The 20-year-old Walker Cup international from Rochester & Cobham GC is representing England in six successive tournaments in Australia along with Lancashire’s Tommy Fleetwood.
The pair’s busy schedule began with this week’s Master of the Amateurs at Yarra Yarra Golf Club, followed by the Australian Cup at The Australian GC on Sunday, and then the Lake Macquarie International at Belmont GC on January 21-24.
They then move on to the New South Wales Medal at Newcastle and Muree Golf Clubs on January 26-28, with the leading 32 players qualifying for the matchplay section at Royal Sydney GC on February 1-4.
Sandwiched in between, they will take in The Lakes Medal at The Lakes GC on January 31.
Haines, a former boy international, made his full England debut against France in 2008 and has been a regular in the team since then.
