Gillingham mum Sam Sams slapped in face in row over spilt food and swearing at McDonald's

A mother-of-two was slapped in the face over a row about spilt food and swearing in front of her daughter at McDonald's.
Sam Sams, of Sturdee Avenue, Gillingham, had taken three-year-old Sophie to the fast-food chain in Gillingham High Street for lunch.
The 28-year-old, who works at Aldi in the town, bought herself a Big Mac and Happy Meal for her daughter.
The argument broke out when Mrs Sams' friend accidentally knocked some food onto the floor.
A woman sitting nearby said it had come close to hitting her own child and Mrs Sams' friend apologised.
Mrs Sams then told her friend she did not like it when people swore in front of children, which she claims the woman did.
This sparked another row in front of shocked onlookers - which ended up with Mrs Sams being slapped so hard her glasses fell off.
The woman who hit her then quickly left.
Mrs Sam said Sophie was "bawling her eyes out" while the argument was taking place on Monday.
"It was an overreaction to an accident. No harm was done," she said.
"I'd taken her out for a treat and she's ended up seeing me get walloped.
"She hasn't stopped talking about it - the naughty lady who hit mummy.
"Everyone in the restaurant stood open mouthed from what I could see. It was just a complete shock."
Mrs Sams praised staff at McDonald's, who she said were "fantastic" in the aftermath and made sure she was OK.
Kent Police confirmed they have received an allegation of assault and are investigating the incident, which happened at just after noon.
