A Medway woman who has battled ME for more than a decade has given birth to a baby girl.
Jessica-Taylor Bearman from Cliffe Woods was first diagnosed will myalgic encephalomyelitis in 2005 when she was 14, and experiences pain throughout her body and suffers with extreme exhaustion.
Two years after marrying Samuel, the couple are celebrating the birth of their first child.
In a tweet posted today, Jessica said Felicity was born by cesarean section and weighed 4lbs 12oz.
She is currently being looked after in the special baby unit and both mum and baby are said to be doing 'ok'.
Jessica spoke to KentOnline about her pregnancy in May and admitted she never thought she would ever become a mum: "I didn't think it would happen to me because I was just too poorly for that. So it was elating that it happened but nerve-wracking too."
She added: “The pregnancy hormone can cause two things to happen.
“Either your body jump starts and starts working like it never used to.
"So, people with multiple sclerosis (MS) have the same thing happen to them and you can make quite a lot of progress in that time.
“But because ME is a reactive disease, you can react to what your body's going through.
"So normally the first three months aren't particularly good - some people then improve and others don't.”
