Former British, Commonwealth and European heavyweight title holder Matt Skelton is being eyed up as the next challenger for Tom Dallas.
Chatham’s Dallas, pictured, has won all 11 professional fights so far and a meeting with Skelton would be his biggest test yet.
Skelton, who is ranked ninth in Britain, is in the twilight of his boxing career at 43 and he fights Lee Swaby – the man who Dallas knocked out inside the opening round earlier this year – at York Hall on Friday.
Both Dallas and manager Mark Roe will be watching the fight closely before making an approach to Skelton’s camp.
"He could be our next target," said Roe. "We’ll have a look at him and see if he meets our criteria."
In January 2008, Skelton fought for the WBA heavyweight title but lost out to Uzbek fighter Ruslan Chagaev.
Skelton’s record includes wins over Michael Sprott, Danny Williams, John McDermott and Roe’s former boxer Julius Francis.
