Rehman Chishti MP wins award and is now the Conservative Party People’s Choice MP of the Year

Gillingham and Rainham MP Rehman Chishti has won an a award for his community work.
The Patchwork Foundation announced that Mr Chishti had won the Conservative Party People’s Choice MP of the Year accolade on Wednesday.
Those receiving an award were nominated by individuals or grassroots community organisations and the final winners were selected by an independent panel of judges.
Mr Chishti’s award was presented by John Bercow, Speaker of the House of Commons.
Mr Chishti said: “It is an honour to have won such a prestigious award from the Patchwork Foundation for my work on community engagement.
“As an MP it is important to work with all communities to ensure their views are fully listened to in parliament before legislation is passed, and key issues affecting all members of society are discussed.
“The Patchwork Foundation has played an important role in promoting and engaging with under-represented communities and I support the excellent work they have been doing.”
