Delays around Medway City Estate in Strood as crash blocks Medway Tunnel
15:00, 27 August 2014
Motorists were this afternoon being advised to avoid the Medway Tunnel approach road in Strood after a two-car crash blocked the carriageway.
The collision happened at about 2pm on the Chatham-bound carriageway - leaving one car facing the wrong direction.
Police have been diverting traffic from the roundabout leading to Medway City Estate and Vangard Way.
A police spokesman said motorists should expect delays while they deal with the crash scene - and urged them to find alternative routes until the road could be cleared.
She added: "We were called at 2.05pm to reports of a two-vehicle collision in the Medway Tunnel, Gillingham-bound.
"There were no injuries, but the road is blocked so we are waiting for the vehicles to be recovered."
