Medway's winter wonderland short-lived
16:03, 23 November 2008
Medway turned into a winter wonderland on Sunday - for about an hour, that is.
The Arctic winds brought snow to Towns at about 8am but it quickly turned to freezing rain.
Overnight temperatures on Saturday plummeted and council workers were out in force gritting roads.
Drivers were being warned by Kent Police on Sunday morning about treacherous road conditions.
Officers said the M2 motorway was causing problems for motorists as it became very slippery and drivers were urged to only make essential journeys.
Monday’s weather should be clear with sunny intervals, but could become rather cloudy with a scattering of showers.
It should feel rather cold in fresh to strong north or north easterly winds.
