The family of a man found dead in a caravan at Allhallows Leisure Park have paid tribute to a "genuine bloke" who "had a heart of gold".

Michael Burn died at the park, off Avery Way in the village, after suffering cardiac and respiratory arrest.

His older sister Sarah Jenkins said the family had been touched by how many people had contacted them to pay tribute to the 29-year-old, who worked as a concrete pump driver.

She said: "Michael was a much-loved son, brother, uncle and grandson.

"He has also left many friends heartbroken. We had no idea just how many people loved him."

Michael had been living at the park as it was a cheaper alternative to renting. It is a place that held happy memories for the family.

"Our family has always had strong ties to the holiday park as my nan has had a caravan there for 34 years and we spent lots of time there as children," Sarah said.

"It holds so many happy childhood memories for us."

Michael was known for helping friends and family in their spare time and the night before he died he was lending a hand to his next-door neighbour.

Because he did not have work the next day, Michael ended up staying there and watching films late into the night.

He fell asleep on the sofa, and it was there that he was discovered by paramedics at about 1pm on Tuesday, November 5.

Michael's funeral will take place at 2.20pm on Friday, November 29, at Medway Crematorium. The wake will be held at Higham Working Men's Club.

An inquest into his death has yet to be opened.
