Michael Timms set to stay with Invicta Dynamos
08:00, 29 July 2011
Invicta Dynamos forward Michael Timms is expected to accept a new contract offer within the next few days after putting his planned move to America on hold.
The former Great Britain junior international (pictured) played 39 games in his first season with the Mos, scoring 38 points but head coach Kevin Parrish did not expect to have his services for the coming season.
He said: "We thought we were going to lose Michael because he wants to move to the States and marry. But he has run into problems getting a visa and so he has decided to give us another season.
"I am waiting for Michael to sign and send me back his contract but I don’t expect any problems and it’s great news that he is staying for another season. He’s only a small guy but he plays with a big heart."
Parrish is still looking for another netminder after last week’s surprise departure of Andrew Dickson to Belfast Giants but otherwise his 2011-12 squad is virtually complete.
