A new CCTV image has been released of a 16-year-old boy who has been reported missing as a search into his whereabouts continues.
Officers are looking for James Gibbons, who was last seen in Cuxton, near Chatham, shortly before 1pm on Saturday (November 9).
Kent Search and Rescue units were deployed to aid the force’s ongoing search which, according to reports, villagers also joined.
Officers are now asking residents who have private CCTV and drivers with dashcams to check for footage from the time the teenager went missing.
James is described as around 5ft 11ins tall with brown hair.
He also wears braces on his teeth and has a scar on the right-hand side of the back of his head that is described as being similar in shape to a question mark.
He is believed to have been wearing brown tracksuit bottoms, a grey Hollister hooded pullover, a white shirt with a black/blue chequered pattern, black socks and black material trainers.
Chief Inspector Garry Cook said: “We are growing increasingly concerned for James’ welfare and are urging residents with private CCTV and drivers with dashcam to check for footage that may show him after 1pm on Saturday.
“We are also searching rural and wooded areas around Cuxton and are asking dog walkers, hikers and horse riders to look out for James or consider if they may have seen him”.
Anyone who has seen him or knows of his whereabouts is urged to call 999 quoting reference 09-1043.
