Morrisons has relaunched one of its stores following a multi-million pound refit – its first revamp since the branch opened in 1988.
The superstore in Walderslade has been under refurbishment since April although customers have been able to shop there throughout.
Store manager Su Donnaghue said: "Six months of hard work from colleagues, management, and our refit team has today delivered a bright and vibrant shopping experience for our customers where our Market Street additions really shine.
"We look forward to seeing our store continue to be a staple in our local community, where we are what we make."
The supermarket in Princes Avenue has had a complete refurbishment making it brighter with higher ceilings, cleaner lines and some new additions.
It has increased its selection in their Market Street at the back of the shop including a new pizza counter where customers can create their own.
There is also a larger clothing and homeware range in the store and a greater party line where customers can buy balloons an other essentials.
Morrisons in-house pharmacy has also moved to a self-contained, larger store attached to the shop so customers cam access it without having to enter the main store.
While it was refitted, the shop stayed open with certain areas and the car park closed at different times and a lot was done overnight to avoid disruption.
The store opened as usual at 7am but held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10am with long-serving staff members, the regional team, charity representatives and Medway Mayor Jan Aldous in attendance.
Cakes and goodie bags were also handed out to regular customers.
