A motorist has been charged with attempting to drive while over the limit after a van hit a fence on a road in Rochester.
Andrew Collier, 34, was arrested after police were called to Maidstone Road, at about 10.20pm on Saturday following the smash.
The van, a white transit, which had several flat tyres, was left in the road near Rochester Grammar School with police tape wrapped around it.
It was still there earlier this morning. Collier, of The Everglades, Hempstead, will appear before magistrates in Medway on Valentine’s Day.
A spokesman for police, said: “Kent Police was called at 10.22pm after a van was involved in a collision with a fence on Maidstone Road, Rochester.
“Officers attended and arrested a man at the scene.
“Andrew Collier, 34, of The Everglades, Hempstead, has been charged with attempting to drive a motor vehicle while above the legal alcohol limit.
“He has been bailed to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court, on Tuesday, February 14."
