Delays on the M2 yesterday were due to fears for a man on the bridge police confirmed.
A rolling road block was in place along the motorway between junction 2 near the Medway Bridge and junction 3 for Chatham and Rochester on Tuesday September 25.
Lanes were closed, but everything is getting back to normal now, according to Highways England.
An eyewitness said there was a man sitting on the rail of the bridge, and police later confirmed they were called at 11.20am to concerns around a man on a motorway bridge above the M2 between junctions 2 and 3.
The man later left the motorway bridge and his welfare was dealt with by police officers. A temporary road closure put in place on the M2 was lifted.
